Link: Boltsmag Report: Andreychuk placed on Waivers.
Edit: This is the last time I post something w/o checking the validity of things... John is usually so reliable, dammit. ... Just read this as IF Dave had been waived... which he prolly should be.
Edit #2: 1/10/05: Back on again... Dave's no longer a member of the 'Ning... 5 days early with this commentary... whatever.... it's still true.
I hate to say I told you so, but... I told you so. John, over at Boltsmag, has picked up the story that the 'Ning have waived captain Dave Andreychuk. I caught both Buffalo/Tampa games in person this year, both times having dinner beforehand at Dave's restaurant across from the Ice Palace (St. Pete Times Forum my fat ass!), which frankly was the most memorable thing about Dave I could remember other than his incredibly lame attempts at drawing penalties because he was being outskated. It was honestly embarrassing and I hated to see it happen. I wish he would have had the sense to let it go earlier, like Brett Hull, but alas, not.
It seemed beyond strange to me that Dave and the 'Ning would want to bring a legendarily bad skater back to a league that would do nothing but emphasize skating but, hey, what do I know, I just self-publish a blog. This was just one of many moves that GM Jay Feaster made this off-season that made me cock my head to the side like my dog does after I fart.
My only regret is that Feaster had waited until after tonight's game with the Sabres to give Dave his walking papers.
Someone smack me, for saying that.
Ta,
Check the comments below... the rumor was false.... but the end result winds up being the same.

Little late on this one Tom, as they've been debunking this one all afternoon. I regret even posting aobu tit because it's source (Toronto Media) can't be trusted....

John,
I figured that out... as I listen to the game on Internet radio...
Dave should still retire.
Thanks for letting me know.
